Re-thinking sports marketing now that fans are in charge

Digital Sales Executive

The Phoenix Suns Marketing Partnerships department is currently recruiting for a full-time Digital Sales Executive to report to the Vice President, Marketing Partnerships.

General Statement of Duties: The Digital Sales Executive (salary plus commission) will manage sellable inventory and generate revenue through all Suns and Mercury digital properties. Individual must have in-depth knowledge of digital landscape and ability to customize opportunities to meet Marketing Partners’ specific initiatives as part of their overall marketing portfolio. Candidates must have thorough understanding of the competitive marketplace relating to digital media on both a local and national level.

Individual will report to the VP, Marketing Partnerships spending significant time with VP, Marketing Partnerships Activation and the Sales and Activation teams in assisting with research, proposal generation and presentations. Additionally, this person will serve as the digital liaison between Marketing Partnerships and organizational departments, the NBA/WNBA and Marketing Partners.

Areas of Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Train and assist sales and activation staff on all aspects of digital media including, but not limited to terminology; competitive information; measurability; proposal generation and research
* Work closely with VP, Interactive Services to identify and develop new digital trends to be incorporated in partner proposals
* Coordinate, manage and track all digital sales inventory between Marketing Partnership and Interactive Services
* Generate revenue through the sale of “new” dedicated digital OTO opportunities
* Produce digital sales material and decks to assist sales executives in presentations
* Assist activation staff to ensure all partner elements are implemented
* Provide weekly digital reports to share in sales meetings
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

* Four-year college degree
* Minimum of 3 years professional experience in Digital/Online advertisement sales
* Ability to thrive in a team environment
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

This has got to be a trend that is going to become prevalent through out the industry...team sports specifically.
