Social Media: Listen First

I was chatting with a friend of mine about the PR his startup had “fallen into.” They actually created a really cool iPhone application and people noticed. He was excited about the coverage, but while his company wants to be engaged with the media and users, he and his fellow entrepreneurs often find storytelling and driving the narrative around their brand takes a backseat to delivering product / shipping code. Product of course, is the right focus, but new social media tools are making the eng… Continue

Getting Started in Social Media

We receive many questions from sports teams and athlete training centers regarding social media and so, are launching a series on social media. We will share the many lessons we've learned through hard knocks and will also bring in subject matter experts.

Our focus is on the teams, coaches, training centers and athletes who look at technology as a competitive tool. In this case, how to use social media to start and maintain a "conversation" with fans, athletes and other stakeholders related to… Continue

HI Phil,
Hope all is well. I'm just wondering if you are still interested in providing assistance for the athlete database program. You could reach me on +254-740464757 or +254-735999006. Our federation is open to criticism and reviews if they will help us grow the sport. Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.
Regards,

Cynthia

Hi Phil, I've been away for a while. We do not have any tools to assess or review the growth of our athletes. what we have is a record of who plays for which team but we do not have a way of improving their development or that of the sport for that matter. i think this is a good starting point. If we can assess our players then we definitely can develop the sport. How then can we get you on board?
Regards,
Cynthia

Hi Phil, i'm glad to hear from you. The challenges we have as a federation are immense, our mandate is to ensure the growth of the sport, ensure fans are present and well entertained as well to ensure that the federation is profitable in the long run.
I guess we will converse more to see how you can be of assistance. Thank you once again. regards,
Cynthia
