I might take you up on networking with some MLS and National team players. In addition to our coach and parent educational site we are developing a community area targeted at the soccer coaching community. I am currently using Kickapps but am considering switching to Ning for ease of use, lower cost to operate and they have some key features for us that Kickapps does not have yet such as private Groups. I would be interested in talking with you some time soon and understanding more about what Athletix Nation has to offer. I think we have an opportunity to create a unique niche community for soccer where the community enhances the learning process and allows you to share your passion for the beautiful game. All why helping users become better soccer coaches and parents. In the future we will also target players but I want to go after the key influencers first. My email is timhorton@soccerinteractive.com if you want to communicate directly.
Cheers
Tim
I have really enjoyed reading your blogs. You definitely understand the powerful connection between sports and social media and I love your examples. I am CEO of a company called Sports Training Interactive. Our website is Soccer Interactive.com and we offer online coach and parent education. We are in Beta mode now and about to make some design changes and add some additional coaching tools. I plan to use social media to allow coaches to contribute to and enrich the learning process. In my view, anyone that can add value to their community, such as making them a better coach or soccer parent, will stand above their competition in the online sports educational marketplace that I am playing in. There are many sports social networking communities focused on fans that are all going after the same audience with similar offerings. Unless they can find a niche or find a way to add value unlike anyone else it will be tough to build a large user base unless you have some good contents rights owners on board. Keep your thoughts and ideas flowing.
Cheers
