New World Record Largemouth (Black) Bass!

"George Perry" the name associated with the world record largemouth caught on June 2, 1932 that weighed 22 pounds, four ounces -- a record
for over 7 1/2 decades, and a record some thought would never get broken. Well, it looks like it may have finally been broken. The previous Japanese bass record tipped the scales at 19.15 pounds, a fish that was caught by Kazuya Shimada from Lake Ikehara on April 22, 2003 on a swimbait.

Marathon Man attempts to break World Record in support of military families

Excelsior, Minn. - Fishing's "Marathon Man," Jeff Kolodzinski, will attempt to break his own Guinness World Record for most fish caught in a 24 hour period. Kolodzinski, V.P. of Marketing for Frabill - marquee event sponsor - established the distinctive World Record last year from the bustling docks of Maynard's on Lake Minnetonka by landing a staggering 1,680 fish. That's a lifetime's catch for some. Kolo, as he's known, did it in one rotation of the earth.

Cabela's Mwc Central Division Wraps Up On The Bay Of Green Bay

Minnetonka, Minnesota- The Cabela's Masters Walleye Circuit (MWC) returns to the Bay of Green Bay out of the twin cities of Marinette, Wisconsin and Menominee, Michigan, July 11 and 12. This is the third time in five years the MWC has held a tournament in this area. Last year it took over 52 pounds to win this tournament, which is predicted to be in the running for the winning two day basket again this year. "I think you will see a five pound average," shared Don Frederick (part of the current Team of the Year and third place finishers at last year's event). "The bite was really good about a week ago before a cold front and northwest winds settled over the area and slowed everything down. Once the cold front moves out and it begins to warm up again, the fish will be more active and you will see some nice baskets on stage."

Anglers may still catch and keep Chinook jacks, less than 24 inches, until the end of fishing Friday, July 10, when the South Fork Salmon River closes to all Chinook salmon fishing.
